| Three Fish - One Caught in the net of the Fisherman |
| |
|

|
| |
| Christ said to Peter and Andrew who were mending their
nets, "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men." --Mark I,
17. Another time He said, "The kingdom of heaven (the Church) is
like a fisherman's net which was cast into the sea and caught fish of
every kind. When it was filled, they drew it ashore and, sitting
down, gathered the good fish into containers, but the bad they cast away."
--Matt XIII, 47. The vessel of Peter, the Church, is still asail in
the world, gathering the souls of men. When it at last puts into the
shore of eternity, its cargo, its catch of fish will be also be sorted
out. Through Baptism, we become fishes in that great net, but only
by living out the implications of our Baptism can we remain among the good
catch. |
