Ministries, Committees, & Organization Descriptions
> Art & Environment - Mission Statement
We provide the artistic arrangement of the altar, sanctuary and church interior
during the seasons of the church year, and special occasions as they arise.
> Choirs - Mission Statement
The music ministry of St. Cletus Parish serves to enhance the prayerfulness of
our liturgies through song. We strive to provide the congregation of St. Cletus
with the highest quality of music, so that we may all worship more completely by
praising God in song. No experience or prior musical background is necessary to
join any of our choirs, and we welcome all who have a love for God and for
singing.
> Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is open to all adults who have a heart to sing sacred music
for all liturgies.
> Children's Choir
The Children’s Choir is open to all children of St. Cletus Parish in grades 1
through 8 (school and Rel. Ed).
> Contemporary Choir
This choir is open to all members who are in the 8th grade and older.
Instrumentalists such as guitarists, flutists, saxophonists and drummers. All
are invited to join.
> Good Shepard Choir
We minister to the bereaved of our parish by providing music at liturgies for
the deceased.
> Administration
We are charged with effectively and efficiently managing the resources of the parish. We tend the stewardship of St. Cletus, as well as welcoming those new to our parish family.
> Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for the stewardship of parish finances.
Members of this committee serve at the discretion of the pastor.
> Landscape Committee
We gather one day in mid-Spring to plant flowers and then follow up with
watering and maintenance 2 or 3 times a month. We welcome everyone, with or
without a green thumbs!
> Maintenance Committee
The Maintenance Committee oversees the physical condition of the school, church,
rectory and grounds.
> Welcoming Committee
We give a caring and positive welcome to those who come to register in the
parish on the first Sunday of the month.
> St. Cletus School
St. Cletus school is a vital ministry of the parish family and the teaching
ministry of the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school is a community of
believers, faculty, staff, parents and students, responding to the call to
proclaim the Gospel of Jesus. We continue to strengthen and deepen the
Catholic formation of our students in an environment of academic excellence,
which represents individuality and nurtures self-worth. We offer an
integrated curriculum, which motivates students to understand the connection
between classroom lessons and their personal partnership between home, church,
and school as essential to each child's total development. Our goal and
commitment is to educate young men and women in mind, body, and spirit.
The formation of our students in Catholic values will allow them to meet future
challenges with wisdom and grace. Visit the school page at
www.stcletusparish.com/school/
or call the office at 708-352-4820.
> St. Cletus School Board
The School Board/advisory body which, in partnership with faculty/staff, pastor
and parents, assists the school in achievement of its mission.
> Family School Association
FSA brings together all St. Cletus School families and teachers motivated to
volunteer their time and efforts to promote school spirit and unity through
family programs, service events and special gatherings throughout the year.
> MANNA
The MANNA program is FSA Association’s second largest fund-raiser. Certificates
for various stores may be purchased at face value and the school receives a
percentage.
> Saint Cletus Athletic Association
We are a group of parent volunteers who sponsor fund raising activities for our
school’s athletic programs. We need many volunteers to provide the best possible
sports experience for our children.
> Market Day
Market Day is a service event. Volunteers operate the monthly shopping days
during the months of September through June. Proceeds help provide additional
income to purchase items for Music, Art and Band that benefit St. Cletus School
children.
> Girl Scout
Girl Scouting is a wonderful way for girls of ages 5 and up to explore Five
Worlds-of-Interest. Help give service back to our parish and community.
> Cub Scout
Cub Scouting is for boys ages 6 through 10. Cub Scouts do all the activities
during the school year that are required to move on to Boy Scouts.
> Baptism Prep Baptism is the external sign
celebrating the entrance of a person into the total Christian community, as well
as into the parish family. The Baptismal Program seeks to promote our faith
beginning with the family.
> Pre-Cana
Couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage meet to reflect upon their
relationship.
> Wedding Ministry

concerning this special day!
