Saint Cletus Parish Grounds
The Parish grounds are meticulously maintained by many people including
volunteers, maintenance workers, and seasonal help under the direction of
Chris Wagner (Director of Grounds) and Mary Beth Maloy (Landscape Committee
Head).
Saint Cletus sits on a 10 acre property, about 4 acres of which is grass
(195,000 square feet). Installed in 2003, an in ground irrigation system
with 300 sprinklers
helps to keep the Parish green during the dry summer months. The campus
includes 124 trees and over 150 bushes. |

A star pattern was "rolled" into the courtyard
turf to celebrate the 4th of July. Maintenance & Grounds often work
overtime to assist in setting up, teardown, and the presentation of parish.
Both departments work in tandem when the entire parish property is used. |
Snow Removal
Saint Cletus maintains two John Deere tractors which are converted for snow
removal for the winter season. Maintenance and Grounds work in
conjunction to remove snow from the parish sidewalks. This includes
coming in on weekends to make sure our parishioners have safe passage to the
church. Placed end-to-end, Saint Cletus Grounds plows over 6 blocks
worth of sidewalk and driveways.
On hand for Winter 2004-2005 include 2.425 tons of ice melt, two tractors
ready for snow removal, and three salt spreaders. Five staff members
from Buildings & Grounds all contribute to the snow removal process while
the parking lot and parking spaces are handled by an outside service. |
