Why not become an active member of the entire Church community... school and church?
What better way to show your faith than to worship as a family with friends and enjoy fellowship. Become an auxiliary minister
or a lector or an usher.
You are invited to become part of the ministry team of Saint Cletus Parish. Following are brief descriptions of each ministry and a link to an online
registration form that can be completed.
Acolytes
Acolytes serve or assist the priest at the celebration of Mass. This
ministry is available to boys and girls in the 6th grade from both St. Cletus
School and the St. Cletus Religious Education program.
Auxiliary Ministers
Mandated through the Archdiocese, these men and women are called to serve in distributing Holy Communion. Ministers follow a schedule
that closely fits their availability of time and commitment. Training and formation is provided through the parish on an as-needed basis.
Lectors
Proclaim the Word of God. Proper formation for this ministry is provided to interested candidates who enjoy reading and proclaiming the scriptures at liturgies throughout the year.
Ushers
This ministry is the first encountered by parishioners when they enter the worship environment.
Ushers greet, answer questions, seat people, recruit gift bearers, take up collections, and organize communion processions. Training is provided on a one-on-one basis.
Sacristans
The Sacristans perform the upkeep of the church proper, especially the sanctuary
and sacristy. Vestments are kept in order, vessels for communion are
stored properly. Contact Dolores Wouk for at 708-246-2625 for more info.
Altar Committee
The alter committee is a group of parishioners who perform light housekeeping
tasks once or twice a month to keep St. Cletus looking at its best.
Although the tasks are done weekly, they are rotated among the group, so you
would be asked to help for about 45 minutes no more than once a month.
Contact Toni Swindall at 708-246-5789 for more information.
