Thanksgiving News 111

I hope you all have a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving filled with family!

Language Arts: Students have received November poems! November poems are due on November 30th. Students will be given spelling list #9 on Monday. Our spelling test will be Friday, December 1st!!

Reading:  Students are finishing up reading The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, or Henry Huggins in small groups. This week we are going to focus on main idea with those novels and how to write a summary. Our whole class books this week are a short story called Athabascans and the novel The Year of Ms. Agnes. November Book Reports will be due December 1st.

Math: This week will will be reviewing all the strategies for multiplying 2 & 4, 3 & 6, 5 & 10, 7, 8, and 9. We will also be reviewing using the commutative, distributive, and associative properties. Students will bring a study guide home on Tuesday evening, the test will be on Wednesday, 11/29. 

Writing: This week we are starting a new unit of writing over informative writing! Students can write about ANYTHING they want to teach someone else. This week we are mostly generating ideas for things we are an expert on!

Social Studies: This week we are working on water communities and crossroads communities. Next week we will begin reviewing for our unit 3 test. The test will be Friday, December 1st. 

Science: This week we will continue a new chapter about plants and animals!!

12/6- 8 AM Mass

12/14- Christmas Program

12/22- 1 pm dismissal, beginning of Christmas break!
