7th Grade – Math

Happy Friday!

7R – We have been working on module 8 which is about modeling geometric figures. The lessons include: similar shapes and scale drawings, geometric drawings, cross sections, and angle relationships. We had a scavenger hunt around the room where we taped up cards with different problems on them. At the bottom of each card had the solution of a different card. Once students figured out an answer, they had to find their answer on the bottom of a new card. This eventually led them around the whole room to answer every question. They will be having their module 8 quiz on Friday, February 23rd.

7A – We are taking our test today on module 9: circumference, area, and volume. Students have learned how to find areas and surface areas of composite figures. We will be skipping ahead to unit 6: probability. This unit will be on the Aspire test so I want to make sure we cover it and students feel comfortable with this topic before testing. They will be learning about experimental probability and theoretical probability and simulations.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Starting next week, my office hours for extra help in math will be Tuesday and Thursday from 7:15-8am.
