7th Grade Religion

Hello everyone!

This week, students read Chapter 7 in their Sadlier books. This chapter was about the promise of salvation. We discussed about who and what helps us during difficult times. We talked about original sin with Adam and Eve and how God promised a Messiah to come. We believe this Messiah is Jesus Christ. We also did lesson 4 in Second Step this week which talked about giving and getting support during difficult times. We practiced having empathy and helping others that are in need. We can be an ally to anyone whether it be a friend, acquaintance, a stranger, or a family member. We did an activity where students were given situations and they had create a skit where they had to give support and advice. Sometimes students may be in difficult situations and they need to know when and how to go to an adult for help and when to encourage friends to seek help from an adult. We practiced having the confidence to be assertive in their communication skills. Next week, students will continue studying the Gospel of Matthew. We are on chapter 10 in Matthew.

As always, please feel free to email me if you have any questions/comments/concerns!

The end of the trimester is November 16th, coming up!! Time sure is flying by.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Miss Smith
