7th Grade Religion

Hello everyone!

In 7th grade, we continue to work with the Gospel According to Matthew. We will be finishing Matthew before we leave for winter break. After winter break, students will be reading the novel “Heaven is for Real”! It’s a remarkable book about a boy who survived an emergency appendectomy and his story about his trip to heaven and back. Thursday and Friday this week, students are reading chapter 8 in their Sadlier books. This chapter is entitled “Jesus, the Promised Messiah”. In this chapter, we consider how the Gospels reveal Jesus as the promised Messiah through details they give regarding his birth and early life. We will learn how the coming of Jesus Christ, fulfilled Israel’s hopes for the promised Messiah. We learn to trust that Jesus Christ, true God and true man, continues to be with us and to share God’s life with us in a special way.

December 8th is our next service experience check. Please remind students to bring their red booklets so I can see their progress thus far. This isn’t a deadline, but I want to make sure students have started and have specific dates set for the future. The holidays will be a perfect time for them to get more experiences in! 🙂

As always, email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Miss Smith
