The Social Studies Corner – 7th Grade

The 7th grade class spent the last few weeks exploring the documents and mindsets that let to the American Revolution. Specifically, students explored the language and circumstances of the Magna Carta, the Mayflower Compact and the English Bill of Rights, documents which played a role in the rights outlined by the US Constitution. Students also explored the diverse development of individual colonies and the frame of mind that each colony brought to the discussion of independence and the creation of a new government. Students will apply this background as they delve deeper into the context of revolution and the establishment of the American belief structure.
