Spanish Newsletter

Spanish update:

 

Students have been reviewing material learned from previous year. This will ensure that we have a strong foundation for students to build upon while learning more materials in the next weeks.

 

St. Cletus Spanish 2017-2018 Syllabus

 

Course Description: Students will work on all aspects of the Spanish language including oral, written, reading, and culture. They will use authentic resources that are meaningful to their lives. 

 

Grading:

  • Grading will occur on a variety of assignments including: class work, homework, tests, quizzes, presentations, compositions, group work, and participation.
  • Participation grades: students are ready with their prayers and materials at the beginning of class, they are trying their best to participate, and are listening to directions
  • Middle school should expect tests at the end of each thematic unit
  • Starting 3rd grade, students will receive letter grades for Spanish

 

Assignments:

  • All assignments are due at the beginning of class unless instructed otherwise.
  • Make sure your assignment is headed with your name and date
  • Late assignments will be taken for half credit

 

Materials (k-8) that must be brought to Spanish class:

  • Pencil
  • Glue stick
  • Coloring utensils
  • scissors
  • name tag

 

Attendance and Makeup Policy

  • All work missed must be made up
  • It is your responsibility to find out what you missed during your absence- This may mean asking a classmate!
  • Please see me to schedule an appointment to make up a test or quiz.

 

Rules and Expectations

  • Spanish will be spoken daily. Students will have good intentions to study, listen, learn, speak Spanish as much as possible.
  • Students will be courteous of other student’s.
  • Be on time and in your seat ready to work when the bell rings
  • Be prepared. Please come with your chromebooks charged and ready to go.
  • Cheating will not be tolerated. It will result in an automatic failure of the assignment/test.
  • The use of any translator program for essays/short answer is not allowed and may result in the loss of credit. They may look up individual words only. 
  • All St. Cletus rules and regulations apply to our classroom

  • Please see me as soon as possible if you need extra help. We can always make an appointment, and I would love to help make your foreign language learning experience as pleasant as possible.
