Preschool Newsletter – December 1, 2017

This week we learned all about the letter K and our theme this week was weather.

Our letter K story was called Kangaroo Kazoo

The letter K words that we learned were Kangaroo, kazoo, kite, king, koala, kiwi, key, Katie, Kevin, Karen.

We learned about different types of weather: thunderstorms, sunny & cloud days, wind, rain, snow. We also read various weather books including both fiction and non-fiction books.

  • Building blocks
  • Holiday matching
  • Paper plate Santa
  • Rainbow watercolor art
  • Weather wheel
  • Favorite weather drawing
  • Weather art projects

Next week we will learn the letter L and start our unit on Advent and Christmas. Throughout the week we make lots of Christmas art projects and create an Advent wreath.

  • Monday, December 4 – Hot lunch/American Bagel
  • Wednesday, December 6 – Hot lunch/Chipotle
  • Friday, December 8 – All School Mass
  • Friday, December 15 – Preschool Christmas Show at 10:45 am
  • Tuesday, December 19 – Pay It Forward items due!
  • Wednesday, December 20 – Preschool PJ day!

Just a reminder – Preschool children will be delivering their “Pay it forward” items to their church buddies in 5th grade. If you would like to participate please be sure to have your items sent to school by Tuesday, December 19th. Some items include: slime, card games, scented markers, post-its, stickers, gel pens, and board games.
