Primary School (pre-school through 5th grade)
Students in pre-school through 5th grade enter an exciting developmental stage of childhood. St. Cletus strives to capture the enthusiastic sense of wonder that is the gift of this age.
- Literature-based language programs with a strong emphasis on phonics, and leveled instruction to your child’s reading ability.
- Writing begins with sight words, sentence structure, and basic punctuation and progresses to develop children’s own creative writing skills.
- Math with hands-on and problem solving activities.
- Spanish classes begin in pre-school and extend through 8th grade.
- Social studies focus on history and geography.
- Computers in the classroom allow for reinforcement and creative activities.
Middle School (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
Middle School is a time of rapid intellectual, spiritual, and social growth for students. St. Cletus provides for this growth with a curriculum tailored to emphasize academic excellence.
- Students benefit from teachers dedicated to Science, Math, Language Arts and Reading, Computer Lab, Social Studies, Art, and Spanish.
- Students change classrooms for some subjects, preparing them for a high school schedule.
- The accelerated math curriculum for advanced students allows successful 8th grade students to start high school in sophomore-level math classes.
- Students develop analytical and presentation skills by participating in the Consumer Fair (6th grade), History Fair (7th grade), and Science Fair (8th grade) as well as area academic competitions in Math, Science, and Speech.
- Students explore human growth and development topics in our Family Life program.
- Field trips are provided to enhance academic growth.
