News and Information
We are off to a wonderful start! St. Cletus children ...Light the Way into a new school yearParent Student Handbooks were distributed to the oldest or only in the family yesterday. Sorry about the late arrival. Please read it carefully as some things have been revised. Talk to your child/ren about the various areas that pertain to them. Sign the paper (distributed in today’s envelope) that you have read and understand the handbook and return it to school.
Arrival and Dismissal are moving along nicely. As time goes on, we will all improve. On 54th Street, please remember to go all the way to the stop before letting your child/ren out of the car. They will then proceed to their 5th/6th grade entrance or their 7th/8th grade entrance. For those arriving in the front of school, please remember to pull all the way along the driveway to Stone Ave. following the car in front of you. Once the row in front of school has stopped, your child/ren may exit their car on the passenger side only. Please have them ready with their belongings. Parents that are walking their child/ren to the door or picking up from the door need to keep the sidewalk clear so our children can walk safely to their entrance or their car. For the safety of all, do not pull around cars in the drop off or pick up lanes. Follow the car in front of you. Please be patient as we all adjust to the new routine.
Uniforms...Yes, students should wear their gym uniforms on gym days only. If we are going to Mass on a particular day and the children have gym that day, they will wear their gym uniform to church. It is very difficult especially for our younger students to change from regular uniform to gym uniform without taking valuable learning time away. Navy Uniform Shorts may be worn anytime as part of the uniform. Parents please use discretion on cold days as we will be going outside on most school days. Uniform shirts and blouses must be tucked in at all times. We are using flexibility these first two weeks of school.
